ADVICE FOR SNOWSPORTS

Clothes and equipment

Wear warm clothes. Snow-sportswear is made to ensure the thermoregulation of your body and it therefore helps maintain a constant temperature during exercise.
Protect your face and your child’s with a sun block that matches your skin type and apply it frequently, even when the weather is cloudy.
Do not forget your sunglasses: in the mountain, ultraviolet rays are very strong and you can get sunburnt easily.
Children really should wear a helmet because they are far more vulnerable when they fall.
Do not forget to bring your ID and proof of kids ages, you may be asked to prove these to be granted a discount on your ski passes, e.g.: Family pass.

Training

Go easy, if it is your first day of skiing in this season; take the time to find your feet.
If you go off-piste, never go alone, always wear an ARVA/PEEPS – and carry a shovel and a probe, or contact the ski schools and a ski instructor can guide you for a safe off-piste trip.
But above all, do not hesitate to turn back if conditions are uncertain and the avalanche risk is high.
If you possess your own ski equipment, have a professional check your bindings.
If you rent your equipment with one of the resort shops everything will be checked according to your weight and ability.

On the slopes

Right of way
You must give way to the downhill skier. When overtaking, the downhill skier always has priority.
Speed
Adapt your speed and trajectory according to your ability, to the visibility and to the piste and snow conditions.
Stop
Do not stop just anywhere. Always stop where you can be seen.

Do not forget to book your ski lessons well in advance with the ski schools.
